Roulette is ultimately about winning money. So applying a strategy that maximizes your chances of winning is not a bad idea. How fun and exciting it is to play as a YANS. YANS is the You Are Nuts System, which experienced players and casino employees use for people who put all their chips to 1 number, for example. It is the inexperienced players who mainly play for fun (nothing wrong with that!). It is the players that casinos make their money with. So, how not to play as a YANS?
- Martingale strategy: It is the most simple and well-known strategy, known among all gamblers. You make even money bets, and every time you lose you double your bet until you win. This way you always break even, provided you win once! In 80 to 90% of the cases you will end up positive. The big risk is that, for example, you bet 8x in a row on black and it turns 8x red. You will now need a very large amount to break even (and win a little). The chance that you have bad luck 9 times in a row is 1 in 653, but it can occur. With an infinitely deep wallet, this strategy is therefore foolproof, but only then.
- The Labouchere strategy: Another strategy to apply a mathematical element in this game of chance is that of Labouchere. The idea is as follows: you bet on a row of numbers, for example 1,2,3,4,5,6. Your bet on these numbers is added together first and last in line. So 1 + 6 = 7. If you lose now, increase your row of numbers by 1. Now you bet 1 + 7 = 8 on all your numbers. And so on. It should be clear that the same risk exists here as with the Martingale strategy; as long as you can spend endlessly it goes well, but in practice this is not the case.
- The Fibonacci Betting System: Another mathematical approach to minimizing your loss. In this system, your bet is always the outcome of a calculation, where the outcome of your previous bet is used in the sum of your new bet. Seems a bit complicated, but it looks like this:
- Bet: 1 + 1 = 2
- Bet: 2 + 3 = 5
- Bet: 3 + 5 = 8
- Bet: 5 + 8 = 13
- Bet: 8 + 13 = 21
- Bet: 13 + 21 = 34
- Bet: 21 + 34 = 55
And so on. As you can see, this strategy also has the “weakness” that you have to win once. The strategies are designed not to win big as quickly as possible, but to minimize the chance of losing. This is an important difference! No strategy is foolproof, no matter what people say. The unsinkable Titanic has also sunk!
